Boeing engines explode in the sky, prompting EgyptAir to stop operating 4 planes (video)

The holding company of EgyptAir decided to stop operating 4 Boeing B777-200 aircraft, which the company owns in its air fleet, based on the recommendation of the global aircraft manufacturer Boeing, and the US Federal Aviation Administration’s decision to stop operating the Boeing aircraft. 777-200, equipped with Pratt & Whitney 112-4000 engines, after the Boeing 777 aircraft belonging to United Airlines exploded in the skies of Denver, Colorado, USA, and the Boeing 747 plane burned out in the skies of the Netherlands, after taking off from Maastrich Airport, within 24 hours only to be two consecutive Boeing aircraft crashes.

EgyptAir said in a statement that it had taken the decision based on the recommendation until a protocol for technical inspection of these engines was issued and implemented on these engines, due to the echo of the burning incident of a United Airlines plane, and parts of it were scattered in the air.

The company indicated that this decision does not apply to the "Boeing 777-300" model, of which the company operates 6 aircraft, equipped with engines of a different model from "Pratt & Whitney 112-4000".

On Sunday, Boeing announced that it was recommending airlines to suspend Boeing 777S flights, similar to United Airlines, which had a right-engine failure, until the Federal Aviation Administration issued its directives after the examination.

Boeing said it recommends "suspending 69 777 S aircraft in service and 59 in storage powered Pratt & Whitney 112-4000 engines until the Federal Aviation Administration determines the appropriate inspection protocol."

Boeing’s warnings came before the Boeing plane’s engine was embarrassed in the skies of the Netherlands, which resulted in the injury of two people, last Saturday, and a few hours earlier, the engine of a Boeing 777 belonging to the «United Airlines» exploded in the sky of Denver, Colorado, USA, last Saturday. This prompted Boeing to take precautionary decisions, on Sunday, pending a reassurance of its compliance with safety conditions.

Because of the two incidents, US regulators announced additional inspections and Japan suspended their use while looking into further measures.

United Airlines (UAL), Korean Airlines, Asiana Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines (JAPSY) all use Boeing 777s that operate with the same engine that exploded in the sky of Denver, Colorado, USA.
