Photos of model Salma El-Shimi in the pyramids are causing a stir in Egypt
A photo session of a fashion model next to the pyramid in the ancient Saqqara area caused a sensation on social networking sites in Egypt.
A girl named Salma al-Shimi appeared wearing a Pharaonic dress, in a way that some considered "offensive".
And according to what local newspapers reported, the pictures were taken a few days ago in front of the stepped pyramid in the Saqqara area, and that the girl entered the area as a regular visitor and wore a black cloak.
Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, referred the incident to the prosecution office for investigation and taking legal action against those who neglected and caused this to happen.
Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper quoted Waziri as saying that when someone submits a request to photograph inside the region, all aspects of the subject must be examined in terms of location and clothing.
