Formula 1. Perez wins the Singapore Grand Prix, postpones Verstappen's coronation
Mexican Sergio Perez wins the Singapore Grand Prix in the Formula 1 World Championships.
Perez won the Singapore Grand Prix after starting from second place and snatching the lead from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the first corner.
Leclerc came second in the Singapore Grand Prix drivers' standings, ahead of fellow Spaniard Carlos Sainz.
The start of the race was postponed for more than an hour due to rain, so that the stewards decided to end it when three hours passed from the original start time instead of completing the number of race laps.
Thus, Max Verstappen's victory in the Red Bull world title was postponed for the second consecutive season, after the Dutch driver was satisfied with eighth place.
