President Joe Biden's office has requested that reporters send their questions in advance of press conferences
The media correspondents, accredited to the White House, were furious.
After President Joe Biden's office requested reporters send their questions in advance of press conferences.
They considered that this contradicts Biden’s promise to respect freedom of the press.
A reporter commented on the request, saying, "This request angered enough reporters to report it," according to the Daily Beast.
A White House reporter added to the same newspaper:
While it is comforting to return brief briefings, especially with a commitment to factual information, the press cannot really do its work in the briefing room if the White House chooses the questions .. This is not a free press at all.
The Biden administration is trying to change press relations, by following facts and daily press briefings, after former President Donald Trump repeatedly described the press as "the enemy of the people."
