Head of "Egyptian Space": The completion of the Emirati Al-Amal probe paves the way for Arabs to reach Mars

Al-Qousi confirmed - in a statement to the Middle East News Agency today, Tuesday - that this arrival is considered a great achievement by all standards, due to the difficulty of achieving it.

He added that reaching this point opens the doors for the UAE to provide more space work, and pushes Arab countries to follow suit, noting that the UAE’s success will make it much easier for Arab countries to obtain and benefit from space information that was difficult to obtain from foreign countries that dominate in this field. .

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zahran, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, affirmed that the Emirati success will contribute to cooperation between Egypt and the Emirates in the field of outer space exploration. Especially that there has been a cooperation agreement between the Authority and the UAE Space Agency since February 2019 in the field of space and remote sensing.

He said that the UAE space program is one of the most distinguished programs in the region, congratulating the UAE government and people on this success, which adds to the balance of the UAE and the Arabs in general.

He added that Egypt is awaiting the images and data on Mars that the Emirati Al-Amal probe will send, noting that the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences have succeeded in publishing scientific studies on water on the surface of Mars in the most important international scientific journals.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Farag, an expert on satellites and space sciences, affirmed that the arrival of the Hope probe to Mars is an achievement for the whole world, not just the Arab ones, because it benefits mankind in space exploration and inspires future generations in the scientific ability of Arabs to achieve similar successes.

He pointed out that the probe has succeeded in entering the capture orbit around Mars, and it is scheduled to enter the scientific orbit next April, explaining that the scientific results that the probe will send will be invested by the world, including Egypt, in discovering more important information and getting to know Mars.

He explained that the probe will study everything related to the weather and the atmosphere of the Red Planet, with the help of three advanced scientific instruments, which are the infrared spectroscope, the ultraviolet spectrophotometer, and a high-resolution digital exploration camera.

For his part, Dr. Hussein Al-Shafei, the advisor to the Russian Space Agency, congratulated the UAE on the success of the Hope probe to Mars, saying: All humanity will benefit from this step, after the UAE announced that what it will obtain from the results, research and studies on patterns Thermal and iceberg installations on the planet will be available to all specialized research centers around the world, confirming the universality of the event.

It is noteworthy that the Emirati "Probe of Hope" accomplished the mission to reach Mars, after a journey that lasted 7 months, during which it traveled 494 million kilometers.

The Mars program comes within the framework of the UAE's efforts to develop its scientific and technological capabilities. The Emirates Space Agency has an ambitious plan to build a settlement on Mars by the year 2117 AD. The Hope probe is scheduled to remain in its orbit around Mars for a period of two years, or a "Martian year."
