President El-Sisi: Corona has prevented us from attending Christmas mass this year
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended greetings and appreciation to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, on the occasion of Christmas.
President El-Sisi said in a speech during his speech with Pope Tawadros via video conference: "I am happy to be present at a celebration every year in the cathedral to congratulate the Coptic brothers on Christmas."
President El-Sisi added: "The circumstances of the Corona pandemic prevented us from attending Christmas mass this year."
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, and the entire Egyptian people, on the occasion of Christmas.
Ambassador Bassam Radi, spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, said that this comes in support of the President's keenness to participate personally in the Christmas Mass to congratulate the Coptic brothers and participate in their celebrations.
Rady added that the president affirmed that the unity of the Egyptian people and its one fabric is one of the most sacred things to be cherished throughout the ages, which should be constantly watched for, as the people of evil have always believed that the Nile from Egypt begins with its injury to the heart, which is the unity of its people.
The president stressed the state’s keenness to present the model to the people by implanting concepts of difference and diversity in form, thought and belief as a basic path for progress and development, and a divine truth that must be respected and accepted in the same society, taking into account what all religions call for coexistence on human foundations and spreading the values of love and equality.
