All you need to know about the Johnson vaccine, on the way to launch next March
Johnson & Johnson is close to completing the analysis of data for the third phase of trials of its emerging coronavirus, "Covid-19".
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", the chief scientific officer of the American health care company said that Johnson & Johnson is on its way to launch an anti-Coronavirus vaccine in March, and expects to obtain clear data about its effectiveness by the end of this month or early February.
And early trial data for the Johnson vaccine confirmed that it is safe and likely to be effective in protecting people from the Corona virus.
According to the study published in the "New England Journal of Medicine", within a month of injecting with a single dose of the vaccine, 100% of the participants developed antibodies to fight the virus, which are temporary results from the study of the first and second phase of it.
The New York Times reported earlier on Wednesday that this is a necessary boost in the effectiveness of the vaccine after federal officials were informed that the company is facing manufacturing delays and will be less than the 60 million doses promised by the US government.
For his part, Dr. Paul Stoffels, chief scientific officer of the American Healthcare Company, confirmed that the company expects to achieve its stated goal of providing one billion doses of its vaccine by the end of this year with the increase in production.
He noted that it is too early to say how many doses will be available in March, assuming the company receives emergency clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration.
However, the trial data for the Johnson vaccine is promising and supports expectations that it will be at least 80% effective, as Dr. Moncef El-Salawi, head of Warp Speed, predicted.
