The reports indicated that the investigative judge convicted Dr. Fadi Al-Hashem of the felony of murder, according to Article 547 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of between 15 and 20 years, and “the file was referred to the Criminal Court.”

Article 547 states that: “Whoever intentionally kills a human shall be punished with hard labor from fifteen to twenty years, the penalty shall be from twenty to twenty-five years if the act of killing is committed by one of the spouses against the other.”

Gabi Jormanus, Fadi Al-Hashem’s lawyer, stated on the court’s decision: “They were expecting a judgment of conditional self-defense, but it came with a 20-year sentence for a second article that prohibits punishment, and legally the two judgments lead to the same result, which is no punishment. The decision is consistent with what Fadi said in the investigations. According to Russia Today.

It is noteworthy that the first investigating judge in Mount Lebanon, Nicolas Mansour, previously heard the husband of the artist, Nancy Ajram, the defendant in the murder of the Syrian young man Muhammad al-Musa, while the lawyer of the dead man’s family said that Al-Hashem and Al-Mousa had made several contacts with each other before the incident.
