The National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) has emphasized the need for advancements in dairy collection centers, which play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of dairy products. The Authority has highlighted this need during discussions with dairy product committee members and factory owners in the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Meleem, the NFSA's storage official, stressed the importance of enhancing the infrastructure of dairy collection centers, including both dry and refrigerated storage facilities, to support the dairy supply chain.
Regulatory Oversight by NFSA:
The NFSA has established a dedicated department to oversee dairy suppliers, ensuring compliance with safety standards across various governorates as part of the Authority's strategy to cooperate with establishments in applying these regulations.
Food Traceability Initiatives:
The NFSA is advocating for improved traceability processes for food products like cheese, where the source farm, production factory, and retail store can all be identified, ensuring accountability and quality from farm to fork.
Accreditation Mechanisms for Compliance:
During a meeting with the Dairy Products Committee of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the NFSA discussed the accreditation mechanism for facilities to be included in the NFSA's 'white list,' which reflects positively on their performance and business development.
Meleem highlighted specific regulatory requirements set by the NFSA, urging all stakeholders to familiarize themselves with these conditions, such as decisions number 11 of 2020, number 1 of 2021 on microbiological standards, and decision number 6 of 2022.
NFSA's Weekly Report:
The NFSA's Media Center issued its 40th weekly report, covering activities from November 4th to 10th. The report included various activities, among them ten regulatory missions to dairy farms and collection centers in multiple governorates, ensuring compliance and safety in the dairy supply chain.
