Israel's Onslaught Continues With Over 3700 Palestinians Killed
On Thursday, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qedra, spokesperson for the Palestinian Health Ministry, confirmed that Israel's onslaught persists with ongoing massacres and extermination of Palestinian families.
Israel continues destroying residential neighborhoods and vital infrastructure. According to Al-Qedra, the death toll from Israel's aggression has risen to 3,785, including 1,524 children, 1,000 women, and 120 elderly. Another 12,493 have been injured, including 3,983 children and 3,300 women.
Al-Qedra highlighted that Israel's violations against the healthcare system have resulted in 44 medical staff killed and 70 others injured.
The occupation forces have deliberately targeted 23 ambulances, destroying them completely and taking them out of service after being struck.
Four hospitals have also been forced out of service due to direct targeting - Beit Hanoun, Dar Al Salam, Al Karama, and Al Awda.
Al-Qedra noted that Gaza's hospitals are suffering from 150% occupancy rates with patients cramming hallways and department corridors.
Routine Care Disrupted While Casualties Mount
The overwhelmed hospitals are struggling to provide intensive care to the unrelenting influx of wounded while also maintaining routine medical services.
With four hospitals bombed, bed capacity is severely strained. Remaining facilities confront collapsed infrastructure, electricity shortages, and medical supply scarcity due to Israel's blockade and bombing of clinics.
Doctors face agonizing dilemmas with scarce resources and far more critical casualties than they can handle. Many wounded are dying from bleeds, infections, and lack of specialized care.
The catastrophe has also suspended chemotherapy, dialysis, and regular admissions, further endangering non-emergency patients.
Children Suffer Long-term Psychological Trauma
The sheer terror of non-stop bombing and chaos has inflicted immense psychological trauma on Gazan children witnessing death and destruction.
With many parents and siblings killed, thousands are left orphaned and homeless. The scale of loss and devastation at such a young age often causes permanent mental scarring.
Entire generations in Gaza are being shaped by enduring such horror during formative years. Experts warn of a lost generation suffering chronic psychological distress.
Aid Efforts Obstructed and Delayed
Despite the desperate need, Israeli obstacles have obstructed and delayed aid convoys delivering medical relief to Gaza's battered healthcare system.
Requests for humanitarian ceasefires to allow treatment of wounded have been rejected. Bombings persist near hospitals, endangering ambulances and medics.
Doctors report receiving body parts instead of the corpses of loved ones blown apart by Israeli missiles. With morgues overflowing, overworked staff struggle to identify remaining fragments.
Glimmer of Hope Amidst the Ruins
In rare moments during brief lulls in Israeli bombing, something resembling normal life briefly returns to Gaza's streets.
Small crowds gather outside wrecked buildings in attempts to salvage belongings. Some line up outside still-functioning bakeries for bread. For a few moments, distraught relatives embrace one another, trying to gather strength to push forward.
But any respite is precarious. As long as Israeli bombardment continues, the number of dead and traumatized will keep growing, stretching Gazans' endurance to its limits.
