Naglaa Badr, Bushra, Yasmine Rais, Dina and Sherry Adel arrive at the opening ceremony of the Aswan Festival
A short while ago, the artists Naglaa Badr, Bushra, Dina, Yasmine Rais, Sherry Adel and her husband, the artist Tariq Sabry, in addition to the director Sherif Mandour, arrived on the red carpet for the opening ceremony of the seventh session of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, which will be held from March 5 to 10 of the same month.
The opening and closing ceremonies were presented by Jasmine Taha Zaki, decorator d. Samir Shaheen, sound and lighting engineering, Hany Nassif and Amir Wadih, theater director Ayman Mostafa and TV director Mohamed Osama. Al Hayat TV will provide exclusive coverage of the ceremony and daily coverage of all events.
At the opening ceremony, the festival management honors the first Egyptian star, Nabila Ebeid, the great journalist Doria Sharaf El Din, the Spanish star Coca Escribano, the Dutch director Mika de Jong, and the great Tunisian director Salma Bakkar. The festival management chose the short narrative film "Sarah's Birthday" to be shown after The opening ceremony is in its world premiere, and it is produced by Plan International Egypt in cooperation with the National Council for Women.
The duration of the film is 40 minutes, and co-starring Rami Al-Tambari, Hadeel Hassan, Lubna Wanas, Muhammad Youssef, Farida Hamdi, and written by Islam Bilal, director of photography Muhammad Kushi, interior designer Bassem Hani, musician Moataz Madi, sound engineer Muhammad Hassan, stylist Maryam Nonoo. Produced by Ahmed Zayan, soundtrack design and mixing by Raif Ali.
The feature film competition includes 10 films representing 5 continents, including two films from Egypt: “The Boring Mim Tour” directed by Hind Bakr in its world premiere, and “Mish Like They” directed by Nadia Fares in its African premiere, along with eight other films in its African show. The first, “Bano” from Azerbaijan, directed by Tamina Ravella, “Mother” from Bulgaria, directed by Zornista Sofia, and “Simrit” from Switzerland, directed by Katrina Moana.
Also participating in the feature film competition is the movie “My Love Relationship with My Marriage” co-produced by Germany, Italy, England and Poland and directed by Signy Bowman, “Desert Rock Singer” co-produced by Algeria and Canada and directed by Sarah Nasser, and “Jung San” from South Korea directed by Jung Ji. She and “The Dividing Line” are a co-production between France, Belgium and Switzerland and directed by Osola Pierre, and “Paola” is a co-production between Argentina and Italy and directed by Florencia Webby.
The feature film competition jury is chaired by French director Julie Bertocelli, and its members include actress Yasmine Raees, American clothing designer Dana Schundelmayr, Russian director Ksenia Okhbakna, and critic Magda Khairallah.
