Yas Island Metaverse is the first project of its kind in the UAE
The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with Aldar, Miral, twofour54, Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management Company and Flash Entertainment, announced the launch of Yas Island, an innovative destination and experience in the world of metaverse.
According to the official website of the Abu Dhabi Media Office, Yas Island will be reintroduced as a realistic destination integrated in an integrated ecosystem of metaverses for the first time in the UAE, and this virtual experience will provide visitors with the opportunity to interact with other users, play, innovate and conduct transactions, in a continuous experience that does not stop, from Buying and building digital homes, to enjoy leading Yas Island events, theme parks, golf courses and motorsports racing circuit.
The Yas Island Metaverse project will also allow users to own their personal digital experiences, and enjoy all the entertainment possibilities that the island offers virtually, in addition to dazzling surprises in each tour.
Saud Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, said: “This project will provide a comprehensive vision that contributes to introducing the world to Abu Dhabi, and giving them the opportunity to explore it in a different way. The interactive and innovative digital platform will also highlight the exceptional lifestyle, cultural and entertainment experiences that the capital offers to its real and virtual visitors, and will give them The ability to choose Abu Dhabi as a unique destination in their itinerary - within a new realm of a completely different reality.”
The island is currently being reinvented and developed in the digital world using many of the world's leading metaverse platforms, including Sandbox and Roblox, with the support of Super League Gaming, the global leader in metaverse games and experiences.
Once completed in the first quarter of 2023, Yas Island Metaverse will be operational and fully accessible to digital visitors.
