The Egyptian Export Control Authority decided to stop the imports of a number of international companies and major brands that export their products to the Egyptian market, including brands of different nationalities, including names such as Unilever, Almarai, Red Bull, Dania Foods Ltd., Allegance, Corneliani, Hydra, Madar Chemicals, and Venus Healthmore. for industries.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade, today, Sunday, with this decision, the total of those who were suspended has risen to about 814 foreign and local factories and companies.
In 2016, the Ministry of Trade and Industry issued some measures regulating the import process, confronting random import operations and relieving pressure on hard currency, including Resolution No. 43, which stipulated the establishment of a register, with the General Authority for Export and Import Control, of factories and companies that own trademarks eligible to export. their products to Egypt, and the decision obligated these companies to submit documents for their registration with the authority, some licenses and certificates of conformity and quality, and other procedures.
