Elon Musk sells Tesla shares worth $1.01 billion
American billionaire Elon Musk has sold another amount of his shares in his electric car company, Tesla, worth $1.01 billion, in a new step towards achieving his goal of selling 10% of his stake in the giant company.
And Bloomberg News Agency reported that the richest man in the world sold about 934,000 shares, according to regulatory data yesterday, Thursday, bringing the number of shares sold by Musk to 10.1 million shares for 10.9 billion dollars, since Musk polled the opinions of his followers on the site. Twitter last month regarding the decision to sell 10% of its shares in the company.
While most of Musk's followers on Twitter expressed support for this decision, the American billionaire had already suggested last September that he would put a "huge stake" in the company for sale by the end of the year.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index indicates that Musk is the richest man in the world, with a fortune of $284.1 billion. His fortune has risen by $128.1 billion this year, with Tesla's stock soaring 54%.
