Shah Rukh Khan's son is released from prison amid a huge crowd (video)
Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, was released from prison on Saturday after spending 28 days behind bars over his involvement in a drug case.
Aryan left the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai in the morning, where his father, Shah Rukh Khan, was waiting for him in the car amid a large media presence.
Many of Shah Rukh Khan's fans gathered in front of his Mumbai home, holding banners one of which read: "Be strong Aryan Khan. Welcome home, Prince Aryan."
Aryan was arrested along with seven other people on the second of October in Mumbai in a raid on a party on a ship bound for the neighboring state of Goa.
India's Central Narcotics Control Bureau stated that the accused had been constantly using banned substances and had been in contact with people abroad who "appear to be part of a drug-smuggling ring".
Aryan Khan's defense said that at the time of his arrest he did not have drugs or enough money to buy them, so there is no evidence to charge him with drug trafficking.
The judiciary refused several times the request to release Ariane on bail until last Thursday, he obtained a release on bail, but he had to spend two more nights behind bars to complete the procedures for his official release.
The Indian community has been shocked by the case of the eldest son of Shah Rukh Khan, 55, one of India's most beloved actors.
