China describes the charges against Huawei's chief financial officer, Meng Wanzhou, as "completely fabricated".
Beijing considered, on Saturday, that the charges against Huawei's financial director, Ming Wanzhou, are "fabricated" and fall within the framework of "political persecution", after the influential official in the Chinese telecom giant left Canada, to return to her country after a trial that lasted for years.
"The so-called (fraud) accusation against Meng Wanzhou is completely fabricated," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, according to the official broadcaster CCTV.
