As can be seen in the photos and videos, lava flowed around the building in the village of Paradise.

The canary-style house belongs to a retired couple from Denmark, according to the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo.

The two, who are over 80 years old, have not visited the island, since the outbreak of the new Corona virus pandemic.

"We are relieved that he is still standing," the couple said, breaking down in tears. At some point, we'll be enjoying the house again. Or we will leave it to our three sons.”

The volcano in the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park has been releasing ash, rock fragments and lava, with a temperature of about 1,000 degrees Celsius since last Sunday.
