Apple releases Magic Keyboard for sale independently
Three and a half months after the release of the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Apple finally decided to sell it separately after it came exclusively with the iMac accessories line. It is now available in the company's stores and on its website.
According to TechCrunch, the Magic Keyboard comes in two versions; The first comes with standard specifications and the second comes with a longer number plate. The price of the standard version is 149 dollars and the second one is 179 dollars. There is also a $99 version without Touch ID, but it comes with a system lock feature.
All versions of Magic Keyboard have dedicated keys for settings (Spotlight, Dictation, Do Not Disturb, and Emoji). But it is worth noting here that the fingerprint feature works only on Macs equipped with an M1 processor, meaning that a large number of Mac users cannot enjoy this feature. And it seems that the reason behind this is the Secure Enclave system in the new Apple processor.
