Spanish club Real Madrid announced, on Saturday, that its player Alvaro Odriozola had contracted the new Corona virus, becoming the third player to be exposed to the coronavirus infection in the ranks of the Royal Club during the past eight days, after French striker Karim Benzema and Austrian defender David Alaba.

"Real Madrid announces that its players, Alvaro Odriozola, have contracted the Corona virus," the Spanish club said in a statement posted on social media and its official website.


The Royal Club announced on July 23 that its player Karim Benzema had contracted the virus, five days before he announced that Alaba had been infected, to join the list of first-team players who had gone through the same experience over the past months, namely German Toni Kroos, Brazilians Militao and Casemiro, Belgian Eden Hazard and Serbian Luka Jovic, France's Raphael Varane, Spain's Nacho Fernandez, Sergio Ramos and Uruguay's Fede Valverde.
