15 information about the first electric car in Egypt, "Nasr E70"
Yesterday, the Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector launched the experience of the electric car "Nasr E70" as the first electric car manufactured in Egypt, through the factories of its subsidiary Nasr Automotive Company.
Over the course of 3 months, starting from next July, 9 cars will roam the streets of Egypt, through the Uber platform, which agreed with the ministry to provide drivers and make cars available for trial use to receive feedback before the start of manufacturing.
Masrawy provides the most important information about the manufacture of the first electric car in Egypt:
1 - Al-Nasr Company intends to produce 25,000 cars during the first year of production, with the first 100 cars to be produced in July 2022.
2 - 20 cars of the first production were seized for sale in favor of Hassan Allam Company, and another for the Minister of the Public Business Sector, as well as the Minister of Electricity.
3 - The commercial production of the car will be launched in September 2022 with a production capacity of 50,000 cars per year, of which 25,000 are commercial cars, and the rest is for the government sector and individuals.
4 - Cars are currently being tested on the Egyptian roads within 3 months, and the car manufacturer is addressed with any modifications that may be necessary for the new car to agree with the situation in Egypt.
5 - The car is manufactured in cooperation with the Chinese Dongfeng Company, through a partnership agreement with Al-Nasr Automotive, and the proportion of the local component in the new car is between 55 and 58 percent.
6- The initial prices of the car start from 290 thousand pounds and reach 400 thousand pounds for the three categories.
7- The government is scheduled to announce a special cash support for citizens who will buy an electric car, as a kind of incentive to purchase it.
8 – The E70 works, with 147 horsepower, but differs in the range and capacity of the batteries.
9 - The battery range ranges between 3 capacities, the first range is 250 km with a battery capacity of 38 kW, the second range is with a capacity of 51 kW with a range of 400 km, and the third range is 61 kW for the battery with a range of 500 km.
10 – The car responds to two types of charging: slow charging, which takes about 8 hours to reach a 100% charge, and fast charging, which reaches 80% in about half an hour.
11- The capacity of the new car battery is between 500,000 and 600,000 kilos.
12 - The efficiency of the battery decreases after 500,000 kilos to 70% and it cannot be replaced and part of it is changed.
13 - Work is underway to provide charging stations on a large scale in the Republic, and it is planned to provide 3,000 double charging stations.
14- The company is waiting for the government’s approval of the car charging tariff, which is 169 piasters per kilowatt-hour, 121 piasters per kilo of electricity, and 48 piasters for shipping companies.
15 - The door for reservations for the electric car will be opened to citizens by next December, and reservations will be made available electronically
