Ukraine: A man in his fifties died, and 5 injured in balloon festivals

One person was killed and 5 others were injured when a balloon fell and shattered in Ukraine.

Police in Khmelnytskyi district said the accident took place during the district's Balloon Festival.

The police added, in their statement: “The tragedy occurred on the evening of May 22. Near the village of Kolchevice, in the Kamenets-Lodolsky region.

The airship carried the pilot and five passengers. As a result of the fall of the airship, a 53-year-old passenger died. The rest were taken to hospital after suffering injuries of varying severity.

The police are continuing their investigations to determine the details and circumstances of the accident.
