Olaf Scholz, Deputy German Chancellor Angela Merkel, stresses the importance of the "Kovacs" initiative
German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz stressed the importance of the global initiative to provide anti-virus vaccines (Kovacs) to poor countries.
During the "Global Solutions Initiative" conference, which provides advice to the G20 to solve global problems, Schultz, Deputy German Chancellor Angela Merkel, said today, Thursday, that the great international task is to organize the supply of vaccines so that all countries of the world can vaccinate their population.
The Social Democratic Party’s candidate for the chancellor stated that this task requires solidarity and financial support, indicating that his country is making large payments to the Kovacs initiative, and “I hope that other countries will follow our example with similar amounts.”
Schultz expressed his belief that the vaccination steps around the world would help the German economy to stand on its feet, and said that he noticed signs of an economic recovery at the international level, supported by the aid programs implemented by countries.
The minister continued by saying that he expects a major recovery once the infection situation improves.
