The first decision by Juan Laporta after winning the Barcelona presidential elections
Juan Laporta won the presidency of Barcelona, Spain, ahead of rivals Victor Font and Tony Fricia.
The Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that Laporta had decided to return to the former Barca goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, to take over the position of the new goalkeeper coach in the coaching staff.
Barcelona announced the victory of Laporta after winning the largest number of votes in the elections held at the team's "Camp Nou" stadium, surpassing Fonts and Freschia.
The two losing candidates congratulated Laporta, stressing that Barcelona's interest is the most important, and that the new president of the club must be supported.
