YouTube removes half a million videos that contained misinformation about COVID-19
YouTube has removed more than half a million videos that were spreading misleading information about (Covid-19).
This procedure, which was carried out by the well-known site in the midst of a difficult war led by technological platforms such as "YouTube" and "Facebook", to control misinformation with the spread of the epidemic, all over the world.

The false information posted on the site includes information indicating that the virus is not real or alienating people from vaccinations.
"We have continued to make updates to our Corona policies to keep up with the science, and we have removed more than half a million videos under these policies since February," said Susan Wojcicki, the director at the site.
Last October, the video-sharing site expanded its anti-medical misinformation policies regarding "Corona" to prohibit content related to vaccines that contradicts what official health authorities say, such as the World Health Organization.
It is reported that "YouTube" witnessed a general jump in use during the epidemic, as many searched for information and entertainment during the closures.
Covid 19 and increased viewership on YouTube
During the first quarter of last year, YouTube said it witnessed a 25% increase in watch time around the world, and in the first half of the year, total daily live broadcasts also increased by 45%.
“The pandemic has accelerated our digital lives. We are always working to strike the right balance between openness and responsibility while adhering to the guidelines set by governments around the world,” Wojcicki said.
