According to the Associated Press, the move adds the Clubhouse app to thousands of websites and social media applications that the ruling Communist Party in China prevents access to in order to try to control what the Chinese public sees and reads.

The Clubhouse app temporarily gave Chinese users an uncensored forum to talk about politically sensitive issues. Unlike many other social media apps, it uses word-of-mouth, which allowed users in China to speak directly about things that are not allowed in China.

The Chinese government also bans the use of apps such as Facebook, Facebook, Twitter, and other global social media sites, and thousands of websites run by news organizations, human rights and other activists.

The use of the Clubhouse application has increased significantly in recent days, after Tesla CEO and businessman Elon Musk urged Elon Musk to use it, which made it rise from about 1500 users to more than one million users.

Users can access the Clubhouse app, by invitation only, which means that no one can chat with someone without accepting the invitation, as others can be invited to virtual rooms where they can have discussions and talk about specific topics.
