Sinopharm and AstraZeneca ... everything you need to know about Corona vaccines

The first batch of vaccines was produced by the Chinese company "Sinopharma", 50,000 doses, and the second batch was produced by "AstraZenka Oxford" - an estimated 50 thousand others.

What is the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine

1- The Sinopharm vaccine works by using killed virus particles to expose the body's immune system to the virus without risking a dangerous reaction to the disease.

2- It can be stored in a regular refrigerator at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius, such as the "Oxford" vaccine, which is made from a genetically modified virus that causes colds in chimpanzees.

3- The Chinese Sinopharm vaccine has been distributed to about one million people in China under an emergency program.

4- Able to induce a rapid response to antibodies within four weeks of vaccination by giving two doses of the vaccine 14 days apart.

5- Its effectiveness reaches 97%, ”said Iwan Sitiawan, a spokesman for the state-owned Bio Pharma vaccine manufacturer in Indonesia.

6- It has been shown to be 86% effective in preventing the emerging corona virus, 99% in producing antibodies to the virus, and 100% in preventing access to moderate and severe cases.

7- The vaccine is administered to the muscle of the shoulder in two doses, separated by 21 days.

What is the Oxford vaccine?

= Its cost is minimal, about 2.50 euros per dose, and it is easy to store, as it requires temperatures ranging between two and eight degrees Celsius, which is the temperature of normal refrigerators, according to a report published by the German Deutsche Welle.

= The vaccine was developed in cooperation with the University of Oxford, and it is the second vaccine licensed by the British Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency after the Biontech and Pfizer vaccine, which many countries around the world have begun to vaccinate their citizens with.

= The vaccine called "ChAdOx1 CoV-19" uses a weak, harmless version of the common cold virus to stimulate immunity against "Covid-19".

= Scientists have already used the technology to make vaccines against influenza, Zika, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and a number of other diseases to make vaccines.

= The common cold virus is genetically modified to trigger it to produce the Covid-19 spike protein - which the virus uses to invade cells.

= When the vaccine is given, the patient's immune system attacks the proteinaceous protein by building antibodies, preparing it to fight Covid-19 before it leads to infection.

The common cold virus used has also been modified to ensure that it does not grow in humans.
