Security flaws in the "Clubhouse" application threatening users' privacy

He added in an interview with Al Arabiya that the Clubhouse application, like other applications, may contain security flaws because the application is in its infancy, as security holes have been found in some other modern applications, including the Signal application.

Al-Hammadi expected that the application gaps will increase in the coming days, whether from China or inside America.

He explained that the application may contain external penetrations, as the application is still in its infancy and is vulnerable to breaches, indicating that it will not be highly secure.

 Can clubhouse talks be recorded?

He revealed that the application has risks in terms of not fully guaranteeing privacy, as it is the policy of the application that it has the right to record the user's voice and then use it in any subsequent security issues in the courts, indicating that the application acknowledges this in its policy by saying that the voice is recorded in a temporary manner, Therefore, the application breaches user privacy with ease.

Is there a penalty?

He added that we cannot say that the application is safe in a large way or securely compared to other applications, noting that although the application policy was to warn those who publish or photograph the screen by pursuing them and holding them legally accountable, this is very difficult to actually verify.

 Snapchat and Club House

Al-Hammadi revealed that the Snapchat application was following the same policy before, but we found someone who photographed and posted the screen, but Clubhouse is more dangerous in that, because Snapchat warns you that there is someone who is recording the screen, but Clubhouse does not do this, it is possible To record your voice from anyone inside the application and use it.

A report issued by Stanford Internet Monitor revealed that there are security flaws in the Clubhouse app, which has become one of the most popular and downloaded applications in the world today.

The report said the Chinese app was reviewing its data protection practices after reports it contained security flaws that left user data vulnerable to access from the Chinese government.

For its part, the application management responded to the report, saying that although it chose not to make the application available in China, some people have found a solution to download the application, which means that the conversations they were part of can be transferred via Chinese servers.

The company pledged in a statement, that within 72 hours it would introduce changes to add more encryption and blocks, "to prevent clients from sending voices to Chinese servers."
