Israel reveals the date of the start of direct flights with Morocco
The Chargé d'Affairs to the Israeli Liaison Office, David Goffrin, announced that Tel Aviv expects to start direct flights between Israel and Morocco within two months.
In an interview with the Israeli Public Authority for Broadcasting, Goffrin said that an agreement has been reached between the two countries and that the procedures are currently being consulted.
He expected the number of Israeli tourists visiting Morocco to double, stressing that there is no doubt that direct flights would lead to a tangible increase in tourism movement between the two countries.
He added that all Israeli companies requested to operate flights to Morocco, and Moroccan Airlines, in turn, requested flights to Tel Aviv as well.
He stressed the readiness of the Israeli liaison offices to keep pace with the increase in the number of tourists to Morocco, pointing out, "We are doubling our efforts in this field and are preparing to provide consular services to thousands of Israelis."
He pointed out that he had received a warm welcome in Morocco upon his arrival last week, to start his duties as Chargé d'Affairs of the Israeli Liaison Office in Rabat.
