Farouk El-Baz comments on the arrival of the Hope probe to Mars
Farouk Al-Baz, head of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University and a member of the Emirates Space Agency advisory committee, stressed his pride and happiness over the historical and scientific achievement of the UAE. After successfully entering the probe of hope to the capture orbit of the planet Mars.
Al-Baz said, in televised statements: “Praise be to God, we reached Mars with Emirati arms and minds that have proven to us that this country can do the impossible. This day will remain etched in the memory of history. Because Al-Amal Probe is the first Arab spacecraft to reach Mars with an Emirati signature and with citizen engineering expertise. It constitutes a model for Arab youth in dream and ambition.
The Egyptian space scientist said that he has confidence in the ability of the UAE to enter the global race to deliver humans to Mars in the coming decades. And that is through the "Mars 2017" project. Which includes a national program to prepare specialized scientific research cadres for citizens in the field of Mars exploration.
