Biden pledges $ 4 billion to fund the global Covacs vaccine program for Corona
The White House announced on Thursday that President Joe Biden will pledge during the summit of the Group of Seven industrialized countries Friday to pay 4 billion dollars to fund the global Kovacs program for vaccines against Corona.
A senior US official said that the first batch of $ 2 billion would be released "very quickly," while the remaining two billion would be released gradually over the course of the current and next years.
Kovacs aims to provide vaccines against Covid-19 during this year to about 20% of the population of about 200 countries and regions participating in this program, but above all, it includes a funding mechanism that allows 92 low or middle-income countries to obtain these precious doses.
