The Naval Academy in the Janzour region, west of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, announced the explosion of an ammunition store, which resulted in a fire that killed at least 2 of its leaders.

The Naval Academy in Janzour reported, via Twitter, the death of the commander of the Naval Academy, Brigadier General B. Ahmed Ayoub, and the commander of the Naval College, Brigadier B. Salem Abu Salah, as a result of the explosion.


The "Al-Wasat" portal stated that the accident resulted in a number of wounded, who were taken to a medical center for treatment.


The National Safety Authority in Tripoli also announced that firefighting teams would go to Janzour to support in extinguishing the fire at the Naval Academy.


Meanwhile, Libyan media quoted health officials at the Ministry of Al-Wefaq as confirming that 3 people were killed and 5 others were injured in an explosion in an ammunition store after the flames reached it.
