Fans of Home Alone 2: Lost In New York have called for the short scene in which former US President Donald Trump appeared to be removed.

The protest came in the wake of the people's actions and the rebellion that took place on "Capitol Hill" by an armed mob supporting Trump, killing five people, including a police officer, according to what was published by the British newspaper "Daily Mail".

The outgoing president appears in a scene in which he directs the character "Kevin Macaulay Culkin" into the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time of the 1992 movie production.

The scene angered the president's critics after violent riots at the Capitol last week, Matt Navarra wrote on Twitter: "I won't rest until he's removed from this scene in Home Alone 2."

And Andrew Hunter Murray stepped things up when he wrote that Trump should be tried, imprisoned, and digitally removed from Home Alone 2.

Although technology makes it easier than ever to digitally remove a person from a movie or even replace it, the scene does not serve any meaningful purpose for the plot and is concise enough that it can be easily edited without compromising the structural integrity of the film.

Another Twitter user joked that "Donald Trump is the first member of the Home Alone 2 team to attempt a political coup."

Another guy tweeted: "Tonight was really bad, and they'll have to digitally replace Trump in Home Alone 2 with someone else"
