The color violet is often chosen to represent the bipartisan partnership. Because it is a mixture of the blue that represents the Democratic Party, and the red that represents the Republican Party.
As for Harris, the color also has another meaning, as she wore purple often. During her campaign to honor Shirley Chisholm, who inspired her career by running for president.
Violet has historical links with the suffrage movement. Vanity Fair previously indicated that this color, along with white and green, constitute the flag of ballot.
