Heiko Maas, German Foreign Minister, arrived at Cairo International Airport on Sunday evening, on a two-day visit to the country, during which he will participate in the quartet ministerial meeting within the framework of the Munich Group, which includes the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Germany and France, to complete the efforts aimed at launching serious and effective negotiations to resolve the conflict Israeli-Palestinian based on the two-state solution.
Informed sources at Cairo International Airport said that the German Foreign Minister arrived with a high-ranking delegation on a private plane, and the procedures for their arrival at the airport's VIP lounge were ended, and a number of employees of the German Embassy in Cairo and officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received them.
On Monday, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, France and Germany will discuss coordinating common positions to set a general framework that can be relied upon to resume the peace process between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, amid Egyptian moves in coordination with Jordan and Palestine, for a peaceful and just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the principle of the two-state solution, and from The ministers are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at the conclusion of the meeting.
