Hanin Hussam and Mawaddah Al-Adham imprisoned for "human trafficking"
On Thursday, the Public Prosecutor ordered the imprisonment of Hanin Hussam and Mawada Al-Adham, known as "Tik Tok Girls", for 4 days, pending investigations, on charges of "human trafficking."
Last Tuesday, the Cairo Economic Court of Appeal ruled the innocence of the two defendants, and 3 others, of the charge of infringing on family values and principles, revoking the ruling of the Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Court to punish them with two years imprisonment and a fine of 300 thousand pounds, and upholding the fine for "Adham" only.
The two girls faced 9 charges, after which the Public Prosecution referred them, together with 3 others, to criminal prosecution, namely assaulting the values and principles of the Egyptian family and society, and their participation with others in luring and exploiting girls through direct broadcasting, committing the crime of human trafficking, and receiving bank transfers from the application department in exchange for what they achieved from Watching and publishing videos that incite immorality to increase the percentage of followers, incitement to immorality, and their membership in the WhatsApp group to receive assignments for the exploitation of girls, and to encourage teenage girls to broadcast similar videos, escape from justice and try to hide and encrypt their phones and accounts.
