First event of its kind in 153 years ... Trump refuses to attend Biden's inauguration
US President Donald Trump has said he will not attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
Trump wrote in a tweet on the social networking site "Twitter": "To all who have requested this, I will not attend the inauguration ceremony on January 20."
This comes as Catherine Clark, Assistant Speaker of the US House of Representatives, announced that Democrats in the House of Representatives are ready to move forward with measures to impeach President Donald Trump.
US President Donald Trump becomes the fourth president in the history of his country to refuse to attend the inauguration ceremony after John Adams in 1801, his son John Quincy Adams in 1829 and Andrew Johnson in 1868, and this is the first event of its kind in 153 years.
