Mohamed Ismail Abdo, head of the Medical Supplies Division, said that the medical supplies industry in Egypt began in 1981, noting that Egypt today is the largest country in Africa and in the Arab world in the field of manufacturing medical supplies.
Abdo added during his telephone interview on the "Extra News" channel: The idea of localizing medical supplies comes within the state's security and food and drug security system ... The medical supplies industry has great and very important importance in the lives of citizens.
He continued: Egypt has a self-sufficiency rate of 70%, but the goal of resettlement of medical supplies is to provide supplies to the Egyptian people in addition to exporting.
He stressed that Egypt is working to attract various industrial companies in order to manufacture medical supplies inside Egypt.
