British doctors are disobeying government orders to postpone the delivery of a second dose to the sick and elderly
British doctors declared their disobedience to government orders to postpone the administration of a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for Corona virus to patients and the elderly who had promised to take it when they received the first dose.
A row has erupted over the ministers ’decision to ration vaccine supplies to obtain single doses for as many people as possible in an effort to stem the wave of Covid deaths.
Officials, who have warned that the supply shortages could continue into spring, said patients who had already received one dose of the vaccine should get a second dose - they were told they would get it three weeks later - delayed for up to 12 weeks.
But doctors revolted and said they would not deprive high-risk patients of the vaccines they had promised, amid fears it would not work well with just one dose.
