5 Manchester City players will abstain from the Chelsea match

The Manchester City coach announced today, Friday, that 5 of his team's players will not participate in the 17th round of the "Premier League" Chelsea match, after tomorrow, Sunday, due to their infection with the Corona virus.

Because of the increase in infections among players and members of the technical staff in Manchester City, the club had to apply to the Premier League to postpone its match at Everton Stadium last Monday, and the club closed the training ground as part of precautionary measures, according to Russia today.

The club said last week that striker Gabriel Jesus and defender Kyle Walker had contracted the Corona virus, but Guardiola refused to reveal the names of the "other three prominent players" who will be absent from Sunday's match.

"The Premier League does not allow us to reveal the names, but you will know tomorrow," Guardiola told reporters.

He added: “We had enough players to face Everton and we wanted to play the game, but on the day of the match, as more cases emerged, we informed the Premier League and I spoke on the phone to (Everton coach) Carlo Ancelotti to explain the situation.

City returned to training yesterday, after a comprehensive cleansing of the training ground.
