The Czech Republic intends to stop using coal by 2038
The Czech Republic intends to stop coal mining in the country by 2038, according to the decision of the Prague Government Committee on Coal.
Speaking on the presentation of the final report on the matter on Friday, Industry Minister Karel Havlicek said that the date was set as a compromise, and he called on conservationists to abandon fossil fuels early, and doctors issued a petition warning of the consequences of ongoing air pollution caused by power stations.
