The BBC website revealed, today, Wednesday, the details of the discovery of an Egyptian antiquities piece believed to have been used in the construction of the Great Pyramid inside a cigar box in Scotland that has been lost for 74 years.

The British news site stated that the missing artifact was discovered by a worker at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, where he found a small piece of wood dating back 5,000 years.


The site stressed that the Egyptian antiquities are a wooden piece of cedar that was found by the Egyptian archaeologist “Abeer Al-Adani”, a faculty member at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, who previously spent 10 years working inside the Egyptian Museum back to building the Great Pyramid. This discovery helps them shed more light on building the Great Pyramid.


The site stated that the results and studies confirmed that the history of this artifact dates back to the period between 3341-3094 BC, and was first discovered in 1872 by engineer Weinman Discon, in addition to a ball and sickle already in the British Museum now, and the wooden piece that became A few small fragments of the Aberdeen community in 1946, and since then the piece has been considered lost and no information or data has been received about it.


For her part, “Abeer Al-Adani” said that she “found the missing artifact inside a cigar box, and by reviewing the records it was found that it was actually missing after placing it in the wrong section.”


In the same context, "Neil Curtis," head of museums and private collections at the University of Aberdeen, said that finding this piece was a great surprise, stressing that this discovery is bringing interest in the Great Pyramid again.
