China announces its spacecraft has successfully landed on the moon's surface to fetch rocks

China succeeded in landing a spacecraft on the moon today, Tuesday, on a historic mission to bring samples from its surface, official Chinese media reported.

China launched the probe (Chang E-5) on November 24, and the Chang'e-5 mission, named after the ancient Chinese goddess of the moon, seeks to collect materials from the surface of the moon to help scientists learn more about the origin of the moon.
