Ahmed Youssef, Head of Tourism Promotion, is following up the project to revive the Holy Family Path
Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, paid a two-day visit to Minya Governorate, during which he toured to follow up the revival of the Holy Family Path in Jabal Al-Tayer area in the Samalout Center, which contains the ancient church that took refuge in one of its caves, the Holy Family during its trip in Egypt. Hotel accommodation and tourist rest around the church in preparation for receiving visitors.
This visit comes in light of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’s keenness to follow up the work of developing archaeological sites and raise their efficiency to promote them in tourism and attract more visitors locally and internationally.
For her part, Iman Mahmoud, head of the domestic tourism sector at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, indicated that Eng. Ahmed Youssef, during the tour, inspected the development works of the Islamic Al-Bahnasa Archeology, the Qaqaa Bin Amr Shrine and the Seven Girls Shrine, in addition to the archaeological area of Bani Hassan.
He also visited a number of tourist hotels in the governorate to follow up on their commitment to the precautionary measures and health safety controls issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
He was accompanied during the tour by the director of the authority’s office in Minya governorate, and the director general of tourism at the governorate’s general office.
Iman Mahmoud also indicated that Ahmed Youssef held several meetings during his visit to Minya Governorate, where Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Minya Governor, received him at the governorate's headquarters to discuss joint cooperation files regarding the development of various tourist attractions and plans for promotion and revitalization of the governorate and its archaeological and tourist sites.
Ahmed Youssef also held a meeting with the members of the tourism office of the authority in Minya Governorate, to follow up its work progress and the office's efforts to spread cultural and tourism awareness among the people of Minya Governorate, in addition to his meeting with the director of the regional authority in Minya Governorate to discuss joint cooperation for the tourism and archaeological promotion of the governorate.
