The governorate called on citizens not to leave the house and go out except when absolutely necessary, "so that the executive authorities can carry out sweeping and suctioning of rainwater pools."
The province also stressed the need for citizens to be careful, and to reduce movement in cars to allow rainwater-raising cars to move easily and easily, and to avoid traveling at high speeds in cars exceeding 60 km, and to maintain a greater safety distance than usual.
In the early hours of this morning, Friday, heavy rains - reaching the level of torrents - and southwesterly winds and a severe drop in temperatures. The rain flooded the coastal city’s streets, while the sewers and sewage stations failed to absorb the quantities of water in the high-end and popular neighborhoods.
The Alexandria Sewerage Company paid 180 "suction" cars, switches and emergency teams in all neighborhoods of the governorate to suck out the accumulations of rainwater.
