The combination of these drugs helps treat the most difficult types of cancer

American researchers expected, that a combination of a group of drugs may help treat triple-negative breast cancer. Which is one of the most difficult types of malignant tumors to treat.

A team of researchers at the West Harvard Institute is developing a drug that combines a combination of immunotherapy and chemotherapy treatments. To attack triple-negative breast cancer. Researchers also believe that this approach will enable them to produce a cheaper and more effective treatment than is currently available.

Chemotherapy is basically a toxin that is injected into the body to kill cancer cells. But with massive collateral damage to the tissues surrounding these cells. Meanwhile, immunotherapy tries to co-opt the patient's immune response, inducing it to target cancer cells.

However, some types of cancers, such as triple-negative breast cancer, cause immune suppressive responses in the area around the tumors. This makes both treatments less effective.

To deal with this problem, West Harvard researchers took a better approach of both areas. They mixed chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs together, and moreover. They added synthetic DNA strands that improve the immune response even further. Most importantly, they incorporated threads that prevent cancer cells from hiding from the treatment.

This approach kills a group of cancer cells. It then directs the immune response to attack it, and anything like it in the vicinity.

In laboratory tests conducted on mice with cancer, the researchers found that the drug cocktail improved the immune response by about 8%. Most importantly, all mice that were infected and treated were able to survive without experiencing a relapse.

It is still too early to use this approach widely. But it could potentially result in effective cancer treatment in the future, according to InGadget. source
