Russian Aesthetic Institute: No new side effects of the Sputnik V Corona vaccine have been reported

Alexander Gentzberg, Director of the Jamalia Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, told Russia 24 TV that the post-registration experiments of the fifth Sputnik vaccine for the Russian Corona virus did not reveal new side effects.

He pointed out that "all the side effects that were listed for the vaccine earlier, which were identified during the first phase and the second phase of the trials, were also detected in a large group of 16,000 people. There were no new serious side effects."


"These extended experiments have proven that about 15-17% of those vaccinated suffer from side effects, which means that 80% do not have any problems after vaccination," Gentsberg added.


According to him, possible side effects include a slight fever for up to two days, redness at the injection site, headache and muscle discomfort.


On August 11, Russia became the first country to register a vaccine for the Coronavirus, which was named Sputnik V. The vaccine was developed by the Aesthetic Institute for Scientific Research of Epidemiology and Microbiology and underwent clinical trials in June and July. It was created on a platform that has been used to develop a number of other vaccines, according to the Russian Ministry of Health, experience shows that such vaccines are able to form long-term immunity that lasts for up to two years.
