Semolina is soaked in two tablespoons of water for about ten minutes.
Add the baking powder, flour and soaked semolina, and stir the ingredients well together.
Add the liquid milk gradually and knead gently so that the dough is formed and do not knead it too much so that it does not crack when forming.
Cover the dough with nylon and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Heat copious oil over a medium to low heat and do not keep it warm. Form balls of dough and fry in oil.
Turn the balls occasionally until golden on all sides.
Strain it from the oil and let it cool for five minutes while we prepare the syrup.
Put the sugar, water, cardamom, and lemon juice in a deep saucepan and stir until the sugar melts and leave it on a medium heat until it boils for two or three minutes.
Add the fried balls over the syrup, stir and turn off the heat immediately, cover the saucepan and soak for about two hours.
Then the Indian Gulab Jamun dessert is ready to serve.
