Russia Today reported, citing American media, that President Donald Trump's administration has dismissed a number of senior independent advisers to the Pentagon, headed by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Madeleine Albright.

"CNN", citing three defense officials, confirmed the news of Kissinger and Albright's dismissal. This was first published by Foreign Policy magazine, noting that the recent dismissals on Wednesday also affected other prominent members of the Defense Policy Board (DPB).


According to CNN and Foreign Policy, among these dismissed members are former Representative Jane Harman (a former member of the House Intelligence Committee), former House Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and former Naval Operations Commander, retired Admiral Gary. Rowhead, former Pentagon Director of Operations, Rudi de Leon, and Deputy National Security Adviser in the George W. Bush administration, Jack Dyer Crouch II.


Foreign Policy stated that the dismissals reached a total of 11 members of the federal advisory body concerned with providing independent advice to the defense minister and his deputy.


This came against the background of Trump's dismissal of a series of officials at the highest level in the Pentagon. Chief of them is Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, and the appointment of officials who know their loyalty to the current president.
