In modern times, appearances make a difference, sometimes a huge difference. The multi-billion dollar anti-aging industry relies on that desire to look good. So do fashion designers and the makeup industry. It is no longer getting old like you do or looking like nature made you or wearing simple clothes with the main objective of covering yourself. Everything is very different now.
The first wrinkle makes people go to their dermatologists. Nobody wants to look older. People want to look like age makes no difference to their appearance. It is the age of plastic surgery to look younger and buy the latest cream or lotion that promises youth.

It's a great opportunity for the cosmetic industry to sell concoctions that will make an eighty year look like a sixteen year. Everything is strange but true. We are all being massively hypnotized by large corporations acting as they want us to. Why not hairdressers then?
