Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro refuses to take the Corona vaccine
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed, Thursday evening, that he will not take a vaccine against the Corona virus. In the latest series of statements he made to express his skepticism about the vaccination programs against the virus.
In remarks broadcast live on several social media platforms, Bolsonaro added that it was unlikely that Congress would ask Brazilians to have a vaccine.
Brazil comes in second place with the largest number of deaths from Corona virus in the world. For months, Bolsonaro played down the severity of the pandemic, despite his HIV infection in July.
The Brazilian president expressed doubts about the effectiveness of using masks. In an indication that there is little conclusive evidence on the effectiveness of masks in preventing the transmission of the virus.
He has repeatedly said that Brazilians will not be required to get vaccinated when the Corona vaccine becomes widely available. In October, he joked on Twitter that vaccination would only be required for his dog.
